Discover our 2024 Sustainability Report

As we mark our third year of publicly sharing our sustainability journey, we’re more excited than ever to show you the real difference we’re making. Our 2024 Sustainability Report highlights the incredible progress we’ve made in creating a cleaner, safer and more sustainable world ‘For Humanity’.

What “For Humanity” means to us

At Arrow, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s putting our mission in action. Through our ‘For Humanity’ programme, we’re focused on bringing our mission to “provide hygiene for humanity” to life. Launched in 2021, this programme reflects our focus on what truly matters: protecting the planet, supporting our people, and giving back to the communities we service.

By focusing our efforts into three key areas – Planet, People and Community – with ambitious but achievable goals, we ensure with every step we’re having a real impact. Our annual sustainability report gives you the big picture of what we’ve accomplished and what’s next on our sustainability journey.

What we’ve achieved ‘For Humanity’ in 2024

71% sales from sustainable Greenleaf™ labelled products

Sustainable product are the future, and we’re making it easier than ever to make responsible product choices through our Greenleaf™ sustainable label. In 2024, we got even closer to our goal of 90% sales from sustainably-labelled products by 2028, achieving 71% sustainable product sales.

In 2024, we boosted the number of sustainable products in our catalogue by 5%, with 24% of our total product range now meeting our Greenleaf™ sustainability standard. With easy-to-access sustainability information now available for every Greenleaf™ product on our catalogue and Arrow Connect portal, we’re helping our customers make informed, eco-friendly choices.

22.5% reduction to Scope 1 emissions

Reducing our carbon footprint is one of our top priorities. In 2024, we worked with expert carbon consultancy The Clean Tech Business Group to improve our carbon capture and reduction efforts. With their help, we completed our first total carbon footprint calculation (including a full subset of Scope 3 emissions), creating a new and improved carbon reduction plan.

Despite growing our business by 20% and adding two new regional distribution hubs, we still made great progress, recording a 22.5% reduction to Scope 1 emissions (our direct emissions); a 7.05% drop in staff commuting emissions, and a 64.65% decrease in IT services emissions.

12 zero-emission electric vans are now in action

Transportation is our biggest direct emissions area, and we’re tackling this head-on. In 2024, we rolled out our first-phase zero-emission fleet, introducing 12 fully electric vans. These zero-emission vehicles now handle 100% of our deliveries across Greater and Central London, cutting our average carbon footprint per delivery by 0.1kg – that’s a total reduction of 4,103 kg CO2e in 2024!

A force for good!

Our “For Humanity” approach is all about connecting, engaging and actively supporting the communities where we operate. 2024 saw us launch our new employee volunteering programme, giving every team member one paid volunteering day per quarter to give back.
So far, our employees have dedicated 258 hours to local initiatives, from helping out at hospices and planting trees to mentoring students and supporting the charities they’re passionate about.

Looking ahead: Our roadmap for 2025
