This year, from the 23rd – 29th September, Arrow are participating in the FSC Forest Week campaign by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This campaign aims to highlight the value of forests and how choosing sustainably sourced products can protect our forests of the future.

What is FSC Forest Week?

Forest Week is an annual campaign that raises awareness about FSC’s work and highlights the role “forest stewards” have in protecting wildlife and combatting climate change. Threats to the world’s forests are growing due to deforestation from expanding agriculture, and illegal logging, usually resulting from the demand for cheap wood and paper.

Organisations like FSC (and awareness campaigns such as World Forest Week) are crucially important to promoting sustainable forest management, showcasing both the importance of sustainable forestry and the impact of choosing FSC-certified products.

This year’s campaign to Trust the Tree aims to educate consumers about the social and environmental benefits of certification, and FSC’s mission to ensure Forests For All Forever.  As an FSC promotional licence holder, Arrow actively promote sustainable forestry throughout our product and supply chain management processes. To date, 20 of our Andarta® paper products are FSC-certified (look out for the FSC symbol on the product listings!), and we are committed to increasing our FSC-accredited portfolio – reflecting our commitment to operate ‘For Humanity’.

How can I support this year’s Trust the Tree theme?

As a consumer, you can support FSC by proactively choosing products that are FSC certified. Through our Greenleaf sustainability programme we provide detailed reporting into product sustainability, including dedicated FSC reporting – working with you to identify ways to increase the number of FSC-certified products within your portfolio, and raise awareness of what FSC stands for within your wider value chain.
