About Greenleaf
We introduced our Greenleaf sustainable selection programme in 2021 to help our customers easily identify products delivering better sustainability performance. Our Greenleaf methodology allows us to objectively assess and identify products that contribute positively to the environment based on clear sustainability criteria. Every product is assessed against our detailed Greenleaf criteria, with products required to meet at least one of the following sustainability benchmarks to be Greenleaf-approved:
•Products certified by recognised environmental accreditations such as FSC, PEFC, EU Ecolabel, EU Ecologo, and Cradle to Cradle.
•Products manufactured using environmentally sustainable methods, e.g. using renewable energy, verified by Cradle to Cradle or EU Ecolabel schemes.
•Products designed to minimise resource consumption, such as energy-efficient cleaning machinery or paper-saving washroom dispensing systems.
•Products made using recycled materials
•Products that are recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable, or with an extended lifespan
Where a sustainable benefit is identified, we require evidence from our suppliers to validate their environmental credentials. Once formally evidenced and approved, products are assigned to our Greenleaf range – guaranteeing the products meet high sustainability standards. All Greenleaf-approved products feature our ‘Greenleaf’ symbol, with detailed sustainability information included in product descriptions – making it easy for you to identify and select products offering better environmental performance.
Additionally, when you shop on our ARROW CONNECT portal, products with environmental certifications display additional logos such as FSC, PEFC, EU Ecolabel, EU Ecologo, Cradle to Cradle, ‘Recycled’ and ‘Recycled Packaging’ symbols - helping you make informed decisions.
Greenleaf Performance
Our Greenleaf programme makes selecting sustainable products simple and straightforward. Since launching our Greenleaf programme in 2021, we’ve seen a 42% increase in sustainable product sales, with 68% of our overall sales now from Greenleaf products. Today, over 1000 products meet our Greenleaf selection criteria, representing 32% of our total product range.
